Dr. Weiss’s experience allows her to treat people of all ages, starting with prenatal women and newborns, and helping with health concerns throughout all life transitions.
Osteopathic medicine is a unique system of healing developed by A.T. Still in 1874 which offers both curative and supportive tools for most conditions.
To become a doctor of osteopathic medicine (D.O.) in the United States requires many years of training, almost entirely identical to the training of M.D.s, and culminating in a license with equivalent authority – to prescribe medicine, work in clinics or hospitals and to perform surgeries – within the bounds of the residency or specialty training of the physician. But, doctors of osteopathic medicine also learn the history, philosophy and practice of osteopathy which was developed by A.T. Still.
A.T. Still recognized the brilliance of the human form and based his diagnosis and treatment on this innate perfection. Rather than embracing drugs and the treatment of symptoms, A.T. Still taught and practiced the pursuit of health, using therapeutic forces and design principles of a higher order than those created by people, using limited studies of petri dishes, segmented classification systems and linear bio-mechanical principles.
The result is a profound system of healing which opens doors for relief from suffering and transformation.
